“Through my time at school and at HomeStart, it became obvious that understanding policy, power structures, government, and advocacy are all critical parts of supporting affordable housing development,” noted Cassidy Kraimer. “I have always had a passion for health and fitness, and I’d like to use my knowledge and experience to share that same enthusiasm with others,” said Lindsey Kren. The Stevenson Center will soon welcome Kren as a Peace Corps Fellow in kinesiology and recreation.

Peace Corps and a master’s degree can each launch a career: Brian Kiger ’05 combined them and has since pursued a calling in international development that allows him to touch the lives of many. It all started at Illinois State.

Peace Corps Fellow serving with AmeriCorps uses art to promote inclusion and community
Peace Corps Fellow Ryan Arnold has always had a penchant for making things happen, even before joining the Stevenson Center. Prior to starting his master’s degree, Arnold served with the Peace Corps in Cameroon from 2011 to 2013 as a youth development coordinator. He went on to work at CARE for AIDS for four years as the African Operations Director. In 2018, Arnold joined the Stevenson Center to pursue a master’s degree in political science.
