Guest artist work to be performed at Fall Dance Concert, December 2-4

During a weeklong residency in the School of Theatre and Dance, guest artist Alexandra Beller worked with dance students to set a work titled, “While we’re on the topic of you, you’re welcome.” This piece will be performed in the Fall Dance Concert: interACTION, December 2-4.

When Karen L. Erickson ’70, M.S. ’77, received a tuition-covered scholarship to Illinois State University during her senior year of high school, it came with the stipulation that she had to teach for at least three years following graduation. Although her first desire and passion were not teaching, she would soon find herself making a lifelong career and an innovative impact in the world of education.

Empowered by social media, Indigenous people are countering decades of misrepresentation by telling their own stories to a wide audience, according to Dr. Shannon Epplett, an instructional assistant professor in Illinois State University’s School of Theatre and Dance.
