Bring it Back to Normal has provided opportunities for large groups of Illinois State University students to give back to their neighborhoods since 2008. The program aims to serve local residents and promote a sense of community for the students who donate their time and talent during the project.
Bring it Back to Normal has placed approximately 1,500 volunteers, who have provided over 4,000 hours of service to our community. This year, the program will celebrate its 10th anniversary and seeks to create an impact greater than ever before.
The program planning also benefits from a strong collaboration of several offices at Illinois State, including the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning, who recruits student volunteers; Campus Recreation, who recruits student site leaders; and Off-Campus Services, who works with community residents to assess their volunteer needs.
Bring it Back to Normal is a great way to get involved and make a memorable difference to the people of the Bloomington-Normal! This year Bring it Back to Normal will be held on Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Volunteer registration is available online. Contact Paige Buschman for more information.
